This 1925 release is one of Buster Keaton’s (pictured) great silent comedies. He plays a marriage-shy bachelor who must hurriedly wed to inherit a fortune. When he advertises for a bride, he’s inundated with prospective mates, who pursue him in droves, relentlessly chasing him through a city suddenly rife with wives, hovering with lovers--a spouse behind every house (AMC early Tuesday at 3:30 a.m.).
