A California Highway Patrol officer who lost control of his car Tuesday while responding to an emergency call suffered minor injuries and struck two other cars, officials said.
Officer R. Martinez suffered minor cuts and destroyed his patrol car when he struck the center divider on southbound Interstate 5 near the La Paz Road exit, according to CHP Officer Joan Rivas. No other drivers were hurt.
The patrol car swerved into traffic and hit two other cars, leaving the vehicles with “minor to moderate” damage, Rivas said. Martinez was responding to a call about an armed suspect, but the details of that incident were not available Tuesday evening, Rivas said.
