TONIGHT’S GAME

ANGELS’ CHUCK FINLEY (0-1, 4.86 ERA) vs. ORIOLES’ SCOTT ERICKSON (4-1, 2.78 ERA)

Camden Yards, Baltimore, 4:30 p.m. PDT

Radio--KTZN (710)

* UPDATE: Finley has thrown extremely well in his last two starts, even though one got washed out by rain in Boston on Thursday night, and the left-hander will likely need another strong start to defeat the Orioles because Erickson is off to the best start of his career. The veteran right-hander, who has one of baseball’s better curveballs, also has a career 12-2 record and 3.52 earned-run average against the Angels, matching his best record against any club. Not only do the Angels rank last in the American League in home runs, they are last in the major leagues in extra-base hits with 64. “I just want them to relax and do what they do best, which is look for their pitch to hit,” Manager Terry Collins said. “They’ve been too aggressive at the plate. We need to bring them back down a bit.”
