Veteran Ventura County Supervisor John Flynn was recovering Thursday from surgery for a slipped disk at Ventura County Medical Center.
The 62-year-old Oxnard resident was listed in very good condition after the “uncomplicated” 1 1/2-hour operation Thursday afternoon, said Dr. Richard Ashby, medical director.
Flynn, who has been a county supervisor for about 20 years, expects to be discharged by Saturday at the latest.
Flynn said that he had been seeing a chiropractor about his painful back for the last couple of weeks, but that the condition eventually required surgery.
