A man suspected of kidnapping his estranged wife from her home was arrested after police tracked them to a casino in Primm, Nev., officials said Friday.
Lester Barnhouse, 43, of Anaheim was seen dragging his wife from her house on the 1200 block of West Oak Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, police said. He forced Margaret Barnhouse, also 43, into a red convertible and drove away, they said.
Early Thursday, Barnhouse called the couple’s daughter at the Fullerton home and allowed her to talk briefly to her mother, Police Sgt. Glenn Deveny said. The call was traced to a casino near the state line, and authorities arrested Barnhouse without incident. Deveny said Barnhouse was holding the woman there against her will.
Officials drove her home about 3 p.m. Thursday, and began arrangements for Barnhouse’s extradition to Fullerton, Deveny said. Barnhouse probably will be charged with kidnapping, he said.
