Long Beach State Defeats Northridge

Tammy Dietrich pitched a six-hitter for third-seeded Long Beach State, which advanced Friday with a 3-0 victory over Cal State Northridge in the NCAA Regional Division I game at Fresno State.
The 49ers will meet top-seeded Fresno State, which beat California, 7-0, in the winners’ bracket today.
Jennifer Johnson’s sacrifice scored a run in the second and Tiffany Blood singled in the seventh to score two for the 49ers (44-18-1).
Second-seeded Cal State Northridge (34-21-2) will face fourth-seeded Cal in the losers’ bracket.
