Partnerships Increase Stake

COSTA MESA — Investment partnerships managed by Joel M. Greenblatt and Daniel L. Nir raised their stake in health-care services contract manager Talbert Medical Management Holdings Corp. to 9.73% of common shares outstanding.
The investors now control 280,861 shares after buying shares for $37.25 to $46.90 each between May 21 and Thursday, according to a report filed Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
No Talbert shares were traded Friday, said Ken Ord, the company’s chief financial officer of Costa Mesa-based Talbert. The stock closed Thursday at $47 in Nasdaq trading.
