Windsharp passed Miss Lady Bug on the backstretch before opening a lead and winning the 1 1/2-mile, $100,000-added Estrapade Stakes by 4 1/2 lengths Saturday at Hollywood Park.
Miss Lady Bug took the early lead and set the pace briefly and settled for second place. Red Roses Story narrowly missed finishing second while being floated out late.
Soviet Bride was withdrawn and Tart was reported injured and was scratched by stewards on the advice of the track veterinarian.
Windsharp, one of the top turf mares in the country, spent most of last year running against males, winning the Grade I San Luis Rey at Santa Anita.
Trainer Wally Dollase wants to give Windsharp another chance in the Breeders’ Cup Turf at Hollywood Park. She finished fifth in the 1 1/2-mile event last year.
