Savitt Wins It for Central Valley

Justin Savitt slugged a 3-2 pitch for a home run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Central Valley a 5-4 victory over Van Nuys East in a District 20 game Saturday at Notre Dame High.
Casey Roth had a two-run double in the sixth for Central Valley (6-0), which rallied from a 4-0 deficit in the final three innings to hand Van Nuys East (4-1) its first defeat.
Mike Schultz (2-0) scattered seven hits for Central Valley.
In other District 20 games:
Valley North 12, West Hills 2--Frank Dipoma drove in three runs with two hits and Greg Wold added a run-scoring triple for Valley North (4-1) in a game at Chatsworth High that was called after five innings due to the 10-run rule.
Agoura Oaks 8, Granada Hills East 6--Jeff Gershon and Ryan Clement scored in the seventh inning to break a 6-6 tie and give visiting Agoura Oaks (4-3) a victory at Kennedy.
Agoura Oaks had five of its 12 hits in the final inning, after scoring five runs in the sixth inning to tie the score. Granada Hills East had a four-run third inning.
Woodland Hills West 5, Sun Valley 4--Two errors, a wild pitch and a bloop single in the seventh inning allowed Junior Avila to score the tying run and Jesse Dechter to score the game-winner for Woodland Hills West (3-2) at Poly.
Woodland Hills West 6, Sunland-Tujunga 5--Jesse Dechter drove in one run with three hits, Sean McElroy drove in one run with two hits and Kirk Birkins had a run-scoring double and a run-scoring sacrifice fly for visiting Woodland Hills West (4-2).
Encino 11, Antelope Valley 2--Mike Jackson (1-0) pitched a four-hitter, striking out 11, and had a double and four RBIs for Encino (1-1) at Valley College.
North Hollywood East 11, North Hollywood West 3--Sam Yaggy hit a grand slam and Matt Thayer had three hits including a home run and a double for host North Hollywood East.
Valley South 6, Studio City South 5--Rick Hooper had two hits and scored two runs, and Aaron Minor had three stolen bases for Valley South (3-3) at Birmingham High.
Valley South 8, Quartz Hill South 6--Valley South (4-3) rallied from a 5-2 deficit at Birmingham. Aaron Minor had two hits, scored two runs and stole two bases, and Matt Lieb added a two-run single.
Burbank North 3, Granada Hills West 2--Jesse Perez drove in one run with two hits for Burbank North (2-2) at Granada Hills High.
Antelope Valley North 6, Verdugo Hills 2--Mario Varela drove in three runs with three hits and Jason Boyette added a pair of doubles for host Antelope Valley North (3-0) at Rosamond High.
