3 Coastline Instructors Win Teaching Awards

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Coastline Community College honored three instructors this month with its 1997 Teaching Excellence Awards.
Margaret Lovig, professor and coordinator for the legal assistant program, was named Teacher of the Year. Lovig was one of the original faculty when the campus opened 20 years ago.
Kathleen Andruss, a physical education professor, was awarded the Adjunct Teaching Excellence Award. She began teaching aerobics to senior citizens through Coastline’s Emeritus Institute 10 years ago.
Carl Farnsworth, adjunct professor in special education, also was awarded an Adjunct Teaching Excellence Award. He has been teaching sign language at the school for 12 years.
Each instructor received a plaque and $300 at graduation ceremonies June 8 at the Costa Mesa Neighborhood Community Center.
