A Ventura man suspected of selling large quantities of methamphetamine has been arrested following an investigation by sheriff’s narcotics investigators and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, authorities announced Wednesday.
Frederick Robert Fischer of 5060 Floral Drive was arrested after a traffic stop Tuesday at the corner of Waco and Danbury streets in Ventura, officials said.
Narcotics officers and the FBI had been tipped that Fischer was allegedly selling crystal methamphetamine, or speed.
Authorities began surveillance on Fischer and said they watched as he made a drug transaction. Moments later they pulled Fischer over. A search of his car allegedly turned up an unspecified amount of methamphetamine with a street value of $20,000.
Fischer was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy, possession of drugs and possession of drugs for sale. Bail was set at $20,000, officials said.
