Marlins Put Floyd on Disabled List

The Florida Marlins put outfielder Cliff Floyd back on the disabled list Saturday because of a pulled left hamstring.
Floyd aggravated the injury running out a ground ball in Friday’s 2-1 victory over the Montreal Expos. It is the same injury that landed him on the disabled list in May.
Floyd, acquired from the Expos before the start of the season, is batting only .221 with two homers and five runs batted in.
The Marlins replaced Floyd on the roster by recalling outfielder Billy McMillon from triple-A Charlotte. McMillon was batting .280 at Charlotte with eight homers and 26 RBIs.

Montreal first baseman David Segui was activated from the 15-day disabled list. Segui, expected to sit out at least four weeks after arthroscopic surgery on his left knee June 4, started for the first time since June 3 and batted cleanup against Florida on Saturday.
Vladimir Guerrero was also activated from the disabled list before the game against the Marlins and homered in the fourth inning. Guerrero had been out since June 5 because of a pulled right hamstring.
The Expos put third baseman Doug Strange on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 17, because of a strained left hamstring and optioned left-handed reliever Omar Daal to triple-A Ottawa.

The Houston Astros put right-hander Russ Springer on the 15-day disabled list because of a lower back sprain and recalled right-hander John Hudek from triple-A New Orleans.
