The Carnegie Art Museum will host a reception tonight to announce the winners and honorees of its annual Classic Competition.
The reception, open to the public with a suggested fee of $3, will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the museum, 424 S. C St., Oxnard. The public will have a chance to view all the art on display and meet the artists.
More than 100 artists competed in the third annual competition and winners will walk away with more than $1,000 in awards and certificates.
Artists were judged in photography and two-dimensional and three-dimensional art.
Among the awards will be the Director’s Choice, which will reward the winner with a monthlong exhibition in the museum’s Masters in Our Midst gallery.
Sixty competing artists have been chosen to participate in the competition’s display at the museum’s neoclassical building.
