Collision Tangles Rush-Hour Traffic

Rush-hour traffic was tied up for about 90 minutes Wednesday when a car and truck collided on California 126 near Fillmore, authorities said.
A 1993 Ford sedan collided with a stake bed truck pulling a cement mixer about 4:20 p.m. in a construction zone about two miles east of Fillmore, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said. Neither driver was seriously injured.
Debris was strewn across both lanes of the highway, and for a time the highway was closed in both directions, backing up traffic for miles.
CHP officers opened one lane to alternating traffic about 5 p.m. while tow-truck crews cleaned up a small amount of motor oil in the other lane.
Both lanes were open and traffic was back to normal by 6 p.m. One minor injury was reported.
