Chico Defeats the Vigilantes in 11 Innings, 6-5

Chico beat the Vigilantes, 6-5, in 11 innings in a Western Baseball League game Wednesday in Chico.

The Heat won on right fielder Brian Wisler’s home run. Terrel Hansen was the other big hitter for Chico, hitting his 21st home run of the season in front of an announced crowd of 3,639 at Nettleton Stadium.

After leading going into the ninth inning, 5-2, the Vigilantes were unable to contain Chico, which scored three runs to tie the score.

Mike Moutrey drove in two runs to lead the Vigilantes and Willie Mosher and Alan Burke also had RBIs.

Pete Magre (3-4) got the victory for Chico (22-19). Kirt Kishita (3-5) got the loss for the Vigilantes (19-22).
