* * Marc Anthony, “Contra La Corriente,” RMM. The most charismatic young voice in salsa misses the step on his third album, replacing the spice with whiny, hysterical yelps and unbearably soapy arrangements--though the over-the-top excesses of tunes such as “No Me Conoces” might win you over. An interesting concoction of sappy overkill and authentic sabor, “Contra la Corriente” is a flawed masterpiece in the saccharine genre of salsa romantica.
