Aquatics Center Will Get $6 Million

Instead of an $11-million overhaul, the Heritage Park Aquatics Complex will receive about $6 million in rehabilitation work under a plan approved this week by the City Council.
Original plans for the city’s public pool complex included a leisure park, which would have included a wading pool and recreation areas, expansion of three existing pools and the addition of landscaping, snack areas and a passenger unloading zone.
The project approved will involve major work on the pools, which have some plumbing problems and aluminum corrosion.
