He’s the Anti-Seminole Now

USC starting offensive tackle Ken Bowen is huge, at 6 feet 8 and 330 pounds.
He also used to be a huge Florida State fan.
“I grew up rooting for FSU. I had all the T-shirts and everything,” said Bowen, a junior from Orlando who is the only player from Florida on the USC team, which opens it season against the No. 5 Seminoles on Saturday at the Coliseum.
“Ever since I found out we were playing them, I’ve been excited. I’ve been waiting for this for years,” said Bowen, who once hoped to play for the Seminoles.
“They stopped recruiting me halfway through my senior year,” he said. “Then after I signed here, they came back. I was kind of disappointed until I came out here on my recruiting trip. After that, it was a done deal. I wouldn’t have changed my mind. There was no chance.”

Receiver Larry Parker expects word Tuesday on whether he’ll require reconstructive foot surgery that will end his season before it begins--and could jeopardize his career.
