The California League shattered its regular-season attendance record this season, attracting 2,061,889 for 1997. The previous record of 1,875,387 was set in 1996. The Lancaster JetHawks were third among league teams despite a drop of 6% from 1996, when it drew 316,390 to the Hangar in its inaugural season. A look at 1997 attendance:
