Groundbreaking Set for Forster Ranch Park
- Share via
A groundbreaking Sunday will celebrate the start of construction of Forster Ranch Park.
The event, which starts at 1:30 p.m., will include food and refreshments.
The eight-acre park, expected to open in March 1998, is next to Truman Benedict Elementary School on Sarmentoso, off Camino Vera Cruz. It will feature a baseball diamond, soccer field, restrooms, lighted walkways, playground equipment and picnic tables.
The park was developed with the help of a joint-use agreement between Laing Forster Ranch LLC, master developer of the Forster Ranch community, and the Capistrano Unified School District. Laing Forster contributed $192,000 for park building costs; the school district will handle maintenance.
