ENCINO — It’s called the Taste of Encino, but there’s more to the annual celebration of good eating than just good food.
The festival, now in its 10th year, also includes a classic car show, arts and crafts, dance exhibitions, kids carnivals, helicopters, a sock hop and tanks.
Tanks? Yes, tanks. There’s a display of military tanks, in keeping with the location of the event, the Naval & Reserve Corps Reserve Center.
The entertainment is also varied, ranging from Marine bands to rock to zydeco. Then, of course, there’s the food. There are cooking demonstrations and food booths with representatives from a wide variety of local restaurants.
The festival, which started Friday evening, continues today and Sunday.
Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and children 5 to 12. There is no admission charge for children under 5.
