Peterson Falls in Quarterfinals

Adam Peterson, a former Mater Dei star from Orange, lost to Ronald Agenor of Haiti in the men’s open quarterfinals of the Mats Wilander Battle of the Beach tennis tournament Friday at the Palisades Club in Newport Beach.
Agenor, seeded fourth, defeated Peterson, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, to advance to today’s semifinals.
In other matches, Wilander lost to Chris Ganz of Long Beach, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5. Jeff Tarango of Manhattan Beach defeated Hank Pfister, 6-1, 6-1.
