BURBANK — John Terzian passed for 236 yards and four touchdowns to lead Harvard-Westlake High to a 29-6 victory over Burbank on Friday night in a nonleague game at Burroughs High.
Terzian completed only seven of 16 attempts and threw two interceptions, but made several big plays.
Alex Holmes, a transfer from La Jolla, had four receptions for 145 yards, including touchdown plays of 35 and 64 yards.
“He was a well-kept secret,” Harvard-Westlake assistant Chris Johnson said of Holmes, who ran over and around defenders.
Juni Williams, best known as a basketball star, rushed for 138 yards in 11 carries for Burbank, gathering most of his yardage on an 86-yard touchdown scamper at 5:56 in the first quarter to tie the score, 6-6.
It was Burbank’s first play from scrimmage after the Wolverines scored on five-yard pass from Terzian to Eric Serkel.
Bethuel Mbugua scored on a 51-yard pass play from Terzian in the second quarter after Paul Drury recovered a Justin Logan fumble, making the score 12-6.
Just before the half, Holmes scored from 35 yards out, running threw defenders all the way, to put Harvard-Westlake up, 20-6, at the half.
