MISSION VIEJO — Orange County sheriff’s investigators arrested a 29-year-old Santa Fe Springs man Saturday as he tried to set fire to a building at Mission Viejo High School, authorities said.
The investigators were in the midst of an undercover burglary probe in the area about 2:30 p.m. when they spotted Franklyn Allen, dressed in black, pouring gasoline onto bales of hay near an agricultural building, sheriff’s officials said.
Allen was booked on suspicion of attempted arson and is being held on $50,000 bail at Orange County Jail.
