OAKLAND — Juan Gonzalez hit his 40th home run as the Texas Rangers routed the Oakland Athletics, 14-6, Tuesday night to end a four-game losing streak.
“If I was healthy, I think I could match [Ken] Griffey and [Mark] Mc- Gwire,” said the Texas slugger, who missed the first 24 games this season because of an injury to his left thumb. “To hit 50 would be a dream, but I know I could do it.”
