WHAT DID YOU EAT FOR DINNER LAST NIGHT?

Harry Shearer, humorist, voice of several characters on “The Simpsons” and author of the forthcoming book “It’s the Stupidity, Stupid”:
“I made a recipe from the old ‘La Grotta Azzura Cookbook.’ It’s a tomato-oregano-garlic sauce you put on a fine slab o’ steak. Then I made pasta with--what was it? Oh, right, pesto--and ze little French green beans in butter and lemon. It wasn’t a memorable meal, but it was a good meal, a stick-to-the-ribs meal.
“We had a bottle of Ornellaia, a super-Tuscan. It has that hip ending, that same ending as Sassicaia. That ending which means ‘paid way too much.’ Actually, a very good wine.
“No dessert. I’ve gone from having chocolate ice cream every day, a real addiction thing, to once every two weeks or so when we’re visiting friends and they bring it out for me.”
