Some Council Members Won’t Seek Reelection

SAN GABRIEL VALLEY — Several veteran city council members in San Marino, Glendora and Covina will not seek reelection next spring.
San Marino Vice Mayor Paul Crowley, Glendora Councilwoman Christine Degrassi and Covina council members Thomas O’Leary and John Wilcox did not file papers to seek reelection.
Crowley has served 12 years on the council after serving almost as long as a city commissioner.
In Glendora, Degrassi served a single term. She is suing the city, charging that it violated her civil rights.
Meanwhile, the two Covina council members, swept into office in 1993 after the entire Covina City Council was recalled for supporting a utility tax, are stepping down.
Although Wilcox persisted with his anti-tax stance, O’Leary later voted for the new utility tax.
