* P. Gregory Conlon, a member of the state Public Utilities Commission who is set to retire Dec. 31, said Gov. Pete Wilson intends to reappoint him to another six-year term Jan. 1. Gov.-elect Gray Davis could withdraw the nomination if he objects. The nomination would be subject to confirmation by the state Senate.

* Litton Industries Inc., a top maker of navigation systems and naval destroyers, said it won a National Aeronautics and Space Administration contract, which could total $572.5 million, to support weather monitoring activities for launches.

* Walt Disney Co. has embarked on a multiyear, multimillion-dollar renovation of the 1,136-room Disneyland Hotel. The first part of the refurbishment is scheduled to open in time for next summer’s tourist season. The project is part of the Burbank company’s $1.4-billion Anaheim expansion, which includes opening a second theme park.
