Man Gets 2 Years in Hit-Run Death

A 19-year-old Ventura man who admitted killing a woman in an October hit-and-run accident will spend the next two years in prison, a judge has ruled.
Christopher Nathan Ringgold was sentenced Tuesday by Municipal Judge Bruce Clark.
The sentencing followed a 90-day evaluation by the state Department of Corrections, which found Ringgold unfit for probation, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Michelle Contois.
Ringgold pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter in the death of Leslie Dawn Talley, 50, of Ventura, who was struck as she crossed Thompson Boulevard near Ash Street on Oct. 16.
