They are polite and dress in tuxedos for their jobs as waiters and helpers at the Calabasas Inn. Who would guess Alex Perez, Anthony Thomas, Keith Thomas and Arthur Lucero are teammates on the El Camino Real High wrestling team?
They insist they don’t suddenly wrestle in the kitchen in between serving drinks and food for guests, but they’re always talking about moves and demonstrating to each other.
“We work, play, do everything together,” Perez said.
They were working at the Calabasas Inn when El Camino Real football Coach Rick Hayashida had his wedding reception.
“They didn’t spill any water and always kept our glass filled,” said Conquistador wrestling Coach Terry Fischer.
Asked if he gave his wrestlers/waiters a tip, Fischer said, “I give them a tip every day--work hard or get out.”
