The UCLA women’s basketball team won for the ninth time in its last 10 games with an 81-70 Pacific 10 victory over Oregon State on Sunday at Pauley Pavilion.
UCLA is 14-6 overall and 9-2 in the Pacific 10. Oregon State (6-14, 1-10) has lost seven in a row.
UCLA took a 17-2 lead with the help of five Oregon State turnovers. Tawana Grimes made two consecutive steals that led to Maylana Martin baskets.
A 15-6 run to start the second half put UCLA in control at 56-34.
UCLA, which is in second place in the Pacific 10, will meet first-place and No. 6-ranked Stanford at Maples Pavilion on Thursday.
Oregon 76, USC 58--Natalie Hughes scored 22 points to lead the Ducks (12-7, 8-3) at the Lyon Center.
USC (9-11, 4-7) was called for 27 fouls, and Oregon took advantage by making 28 of 35 free throws. USC attempted 22 free throws, making 14.
