Rifkin’s Homer Helps Chapman Beat SCC

Freshman Aaron Rifkin’s three-run home run in the fifth inning capped a five-run rally as Chapman rolled past host Southern California College, 15-0, in a nonconference baseball game Thursday.
Jeff Biltstein pitched seven innings, giving up six hits and one walk in his first start for Chapman (3-0). The game was called in the eighth inning because of darkness.
In Golden State Athletic Conference men’s tennis:
Southern California College 4, California Baptist 3--SCC won four of six singles matches for the victory. Jeff Baker of the Vanguards (2-0) defeated Jeff Downs at No. 6 singles, 6-4, 6-3.
