Granato, the team captain, organized a group photo and camcorder session, hours after the game.
The exhausted team lined up, silently.
“Hey, let’s go, let’s get a little more excited,” Granato urged them. “We won, didn’t we?”
“We won,” teammate Tricia Dunn shouted.
“I thought so,” Granato said.
GOOD THING THEY WEREN’T PLAYING CZECHOSLOVAKIA
Japanese fans--an entire section of them--openly cheered for the Canadians at the hockey game.
U.S. press wags called them “the Janucks.”
One trio held signs that read: “CA” “NA” “DA.”
At one point, they got the cards mixed up.
Yes, fans, that final score again:
USA 3, CA DA NA 1.
