No Justice in Keating Verdict

The comment is made often these days of “how cynical the American public is,” and is it any wonder [“Judge Again Rejects Conviction of Keating,” Feb. 6]?
U.S. District Judge John G. Davies granted a new petition by Keating to dismiss the 17-count state verdict.
One wonders what happened to the $200 million in bonds sold to 17,000 mostly elderly Southern Californians who never saw any proceeds from their investments.
Though I am not one of the investors, I can only say it pains me to think that those who have been bilked out of their life savings deserve more justice than they are receiving. Hopefully, the state prosecutors will be successful in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Let’s restore faith in our judicial system.
