Diaper maker Paragon Trade Brands Inc., facing a patent-infringement liability of up to $200 million to Procter & Gamble, said it has filed for protection from creditors’ claims under federal bankruptcy laws. . . . Amazon.com Inc. said its book-selling Web site shut down Wednesday because of a “simple” system problem it would not disclose because it involves proprietary technology. The Seattle-based company relies solely on the Internet to sell its 2.5 million book titles. . . .
