Micronix Taken Over

C.P. Clare Corp. said Monday it acquired Micronix Integrated Systems Inc. of Aliso Viejo for $15.8 million.
Micronix, which designs and makes integrated circuits, posted revenue of about $9 million for the fiscal year ended June 30. C.P. Clare, based in Beverly, Mass., makes a variety of electrical components. The company said it expects to record pretax charges of about $800,000 in the second quarter to cover acquisition-related costs and $9.3 million for purchased technology.
For the second quarter ended Sept. 28, 1997, C.P. Clare reported net income of $2.1 million, or 21 cents a share, on sales of $39.2 million.
