Re “Digre Faces Questions Over Boy’s Adoption,” July 7:
Since when is the Department of Children and Family Services a platform for insensitive social workers to carry out their personal agendas? Individuals such as Doris Brown and DCFS director Peter Digre who allow their racially motivated beliefs to prevent children from being adopted by a loving family simply because the child and adoptive parents do not share the same race, are terrible. Young children who are living in a neglected and abusive environment deserve to be loved and nurtured. Children could not care less what color the skin is of the person loving them. In fact, last time I looked, love had no color.
