Lancaster Runs It Up on Modesto

Ramon Vazquez had two hits and drove in four runs, three on a triple in a five-run fifth inning, and Lancaster routed Modesto, 13-1, in a California League game Thursday night at Modesto (17-11). Cirilo Cruz doubled twice and finished with three hits and two RBIs for Lancaster (13-15).
SUNS
Eric White’s home run in the ninth inning gave Sonoma County a 4-3 victory over Pacific in a Western League game at Oxnard College. Britton Scheibe hit a homer for the Suns (13-33, 0-1).

Triple-A--Outfielder Jason Evans (Chatsworth High) had two hits, including his 15th double for Calgary. . . . First baseman Nate Dishington (Hoover) hit two doubles and drove in three runs, twice knocking in shortstop Adam Kennedy (Cal State Northridge), who singled twice for Memphis in a 4-2 victory over New Orleans. Kennedy also stole a base. . . . Outfielder Scott Richardson (Northridge) hit a single and his 14th double, driving in two runs, for Albuquerque. . . . Steve Sisco (Thousand Oaks High, Moorpark College) hit his 14th home run for Omaha in an 8-5 victory over Iowa. Sisco played first, third and shortstop in the game. . . . Roland De La Maza (St. Genevieve) pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings for Omaha, striking out four. . . . Catcher Tim Laker (Simi Valley, Oxnard College) doubled and singled for Nashville.
Double-A--Outfielder Ryan Stromsborg (Notre Dame) hit a three-run home run, his seventh, for Knoxville. . . . Catcher Robert Fick had two hits, including his fourth triple, and is batting .314 for Jacksonville.
