Isabella Padilla-Van Leggelo; Graphic Artist

Westlake Village resident Isabella Padilla-Van Leggelo died Friday after a long illness. She was 37.
Padilla-Van Leggelo was born March 1, 1961, in Caracas, Venezuela. As a young adult, she moved with her family to Washington, D.C., where they lived for several years before moving to San Francisco in 1984.
Padilla-Van Leggelo was married in 1993. She and her husband, a designer and builder of oil ships, met in San Diego. They lived in Norway and Monte Carlo before settling in Westlake Village in 1996.
For several years, Padilla-Van Leggelo worked as a graphic artist in San Francisco and San Diego, her husband said. In her free time, she enjoyed drawing and painting.
“Everybody will remember her as an amazing fighter,” said Padilla-Van Leggelo’s husband, Bernard Van Leggelo.
In addition to her husband, Padilla-Van Leggelo is survived by her daughter, Daniella, and her son, Johannes.
Private services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Westlake Village. Interment will follow at Memorial Park in Westlake Village. Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
