Residents Warned After Mountain Lion Sightings
- Share via
A mountain lion has been spotted in the Highland Oaks neighborhood and officials are warning residents to keep their children and pets inside after dark.
The mountain lion was seen twice recently in the neighborhood, once on a Sunday evening and then on a Monday night, said Elizabeth Stelow, public relations director of Pasadena Humane Society.
Officials believe the big cat was drawn into the populated area by about a dozen deer who live in the canyon.
Stelow said a Humane Society officer responded to a call from a homeowner but that the lion had disappeared by the time the officer arrived.
