Lots for Legs to Do in Fund-Raising Event

For an afternoon of blues music and exercise, the second annual Anaheim Downtown Discovery Run, Walk and Skate will be held today. .
The event includes a 5K fun skate at 3 p.m., 10K advanced skate at 4 p.m., 5K run or walk at 5 p.m., and a 1K fun run for children at 6:30 p.m.
Registration is $25 for the skate events, $23 for the 5K run or walk, and $15 for the children’s run. For team competition, the fee is $20.
Awards will be given in each competition.
The event will include a free blues festival from 3 to 7 p.m. Hop City Steakhouse will sell food and drinks.
The event will take place downtown, on Center Street Promenade at Anaheim Boulevard.
Proceeds will benefit Oak Canyon Nature Center, which provides environmental education for children, and Hope House, a substance abuse treatment center. Both programs are based in Anaheim.
