Four people were injured when two cars collided Monday night in front of the Balboa Bay Club, Newport Beach police said.
The incident occurred at 9:19 p.m. on the 1000 block of West Coast Highway when a Jeep Wrangler collided with a two-door Chevrolet, Investigator Howard Eisenberg said.
The Chevrolet, driven by Arturo E. Ruiz, 29, of Fontana, was struck in the side by the Jeep, driven by Ann McGlinn, 32, of Newport Beach.
McGlinn, who was driving alone, and the passengers in the Chevrolet--Angelica Ruiz, 29, and David Ramos, 8, both of Fontana--were taken to Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian and later released.
Arturo Ruiz was treated at Western Medical Center for minor injuries. He later was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving, Eisenberg said.
Police closed off parts of the highway until 11:30 p.m. and are continuing their investigation.
