Brochures Explain Permit Procedures

Residents can now pick up an award-winning set of six brochures that outline the permit processing procedure in Thousand Oaks.
The brochures were designed by half a dozen public works and community development employees. The group was recently selected for the annual Customer Service Award, presented by the city to an outstanding staff group, said Judy Haskell of the city’s human resources office.
“More brochures are in the works,” said team member Cathi Beamer, an engineering consultant in the public works department. “We’re also planning to get this information out on the Web.”
Team members met weekly for more than two years to design and produce the brochures, which cover all aspects of acquiring permits for public works or community development projects, Beamer said.
