Rain Postpones Softball Tournament

The Fountain Valley Softball Classic, scheduled to begin today at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley, has been postponed at the city’s request.

Cary Baker, softball coach at Fountain Valley High, said city officials told him the park’s fields could not be used for play today because of the recent rains and the forecast for more rain.

Baker said first- and second-round games will instead be played next Saturday, with some adjustment in the brackets. The tournament will conclude May 2.
