Coverage of Gore Speech Inaccurate
I accept it as your editorial prerogative to slam Vice President Al Gore and Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Garden Grove) for being politicians, but you lose credibility when your reporting is not factual.
My wife and I were among the 2,000 people attending Gore’s keynote address at UC Irvine, dedicating the endowment of a chair on civic governance.
Your stating that Sanchez was 10 feet away and the farthest she had been from the vice president all day implies she was on the platform with him, which was not the case.
In fact, four people were on the platform. Sanchez was seated to the far left of the platform, along with the mayors of Laguna Beach and Santa Ana. She was in the front row. The lie is always in the details.
