Ground Broken for Elderly Housing

Developers recently broke ground on what will become one of the largest senior communities in Orange County.
The Westminster Terrace, an 82-unit senior care facility, will be built next to the Huntington Westminster Senior Apartments at Westminster Boulevard and Hoover Street.
The building, on the site of the former Westminster Auditorium, will be for seniors who need more assistance on a daily basis. The other four buildings are for more active seniors.
“The homelike environment of the Westminster Terrace is designed for seniors in some need of assistance, as well as to help them maintain independence,” said Robert Zinngrabe, chairman of Delmapacifica Corp., which owns the property. “We wanted to build this assisted living community adjacent to our apartment community in order to meet the changing needs of our residents.”
