Sen. Boxer

It was with a deep sense of sadness and regret that I read your Oct. 25 editorial, “Fong for the Senate.” I have served with Sen. Barbara Boxer for the past six years and know her to be deeply committed to the issues affecting the people of California.
On some of the most important issues facing our state--the deterioration of our public schools, gun violence, health care reform, Social Security, the protection of our environment and a woman’s right to choose--Barbara has been a leader in the Senate.
In our time together in the Senate, I have seen Barbara grow tremendously, building new alliances to bolster economic growth and foreign trade. Together we worked very closely this year to extend research and development tax credits, which are especially important to the high-tech industries that are leading California’s economic resurgence.
It is my deep belief that in terms of fighting for the people of California, I have a terrific partner, and I look forward to her reelection to the U.S. Senate.
SEN. DIANNE FEINSTEIN, D-California
