Child-Support Bills

Re “D.A. Bills the Dead for Child Support,” Nov. 2: They aren’t just billing dead parents for support of living children, they are also billing living parents for the support of dead children!
My husband had a child with his ex-wife who died at 5 months old due to sudden infant death syndrome. The only child support my husband owed he had long since paid, while his son was alive, but the district attorney’s office continued to bill him for child support four years later, and even issued a warrant for his arrest as a “deadbeat dad.” My husband finally went directly to the D.A.’s office and showed them a copy of his son’s death certificate. This after mailing it many, many times. Now I understand why. If the employees in that office can’t open mail and are throwing it away, they need to be replaced.
