IRVINE

City Council members tonight are expected to oppose the interim use of El Toro Marine Corps Air Station for air cargo operations, as has been suggested in a letter from the chair of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. The El Toro Reuse Planning Authority recently opposed the interim proposal. Cargo operations could start as early as July, when the base officially closes. The council meets at 1 Civic Center Plaza at 5:30 p.m.
