Man Hit, Killed by Train in Pacoima

PACOIMA — A man who may have been trying to beat a Metrolink train across the tracks was struck and killed Thursday evening, authorities said.
The young adult’s identity was not immediately known, according to police at the scene.
The accident occurred just after 6:30 p.m. in the 9800 block of North San Fernando Road, said Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department. The man may have been walking with another person, who managed to get across the tracks and alerted friends to the accident, officers said.
Identification of the body was to be made by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
